Want vs. Have

How often do you find that having something is not as great as you thought it would be before you had it? What's your most recent example of this?

I miss the old Writer's Block, where we could see the answers given by others. I found a number of new friends that way. :(

Now, one has to 'friend' lj_bot even to get the questions, and the number of answers is always "0".

I second this sentiment. While I didn't answer questions all the time, it served as an occasional discussion starter among my friends. Now its a pain that pollutes my friend page needlessly.

If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT.

i third it! i've been thinking my computer's screwing up the "view answers" part. guess not. i liked to read the other answers because people are interesting. and it was way less obtrusive when the writer's block was on the lj home page. instead there's that irritating lj today rotating billboard. not that any of this ruins my life, but why did lj eff up the writer's block?

I agree with everything that's been said here. The other big PITA about the reworking of Writers Block is as follows: I can see the question on my flist. When I select "Answer" the usual text box opens up, and I can type my answer. But when I try to post my answer nothing shows up in my journal. My journal is open to everyone, not just my flist, and I had to ban a total stranger who was very rudely and repeatedly asking me why I bothered posting the questions to my journal if I "never" answered them. I have to come directly to this page in order to see my answer published, and apparently even when it gets published here the answer still doesn't show up in my journal. Very annoying!
